I was hospitalized overseas. Generali’s medical team made the call I needed an escort to get back to the country and paid for the tickets for me and the escorts- told me to pay for the accommodations of everything assuring me I would be reimbursed for all expenses. I waited over two weeks between them trying to find flights and that meaning me having find another person to come because it meant the person couldn’t come anymore to working with another person’s schedule.

I got home filed for reimbursement within days and they lost the claim in the system 3 times before I got a claim number then they denied it saying it was pre existing! I appealed and they only paid $700 of $3300 that was spent waiting as they instructed. I was blown off the last time with a give us 72 hours it has been a month- I have multiple emails in saying stay there it will be reimbursed. I sent all documentation. I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau. Do NOT use this company they do not have integrity- I really believed they did but they put me in a terrible situation at a vulnerable time. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

It is terrible to be sick when you travel but to be placed in a position where you cannot go home and get medical care by your own doctors because you are at the mercy of people making arrangements not able to work and told don’t worry it will be reimbursed and then to go home and they don’t follow through on that is horrific- my condition was separate but I came home to be tested for other serious medical conditions and my ability to work was limited this is terrible and disgusting behavior.

The insurance is a major misrepresentation from what is presented on the company website. Buyer BEWARE! It’s great to purchase an economically priced insurance. It’s another thing to get paid when a claim is filed.The communication is horrible. It is impossible to talk to claims representatives. You are forced to send messages in the portal with no response. My claim was closed prematurely with no written explanation. Phone calls are not returned. Claims are not settled in a timely manner. The portal is difficult to use. I am extremely dissatisfied and would not purchase again!

They do not care.
We booked a trip to Jamaica and got this insurance since the island is under hurricane thread we decided not to travel because we had an infant with us it turns out that they won't refund our money because Jet Blue has not decided to cancel the flight because of the weather. Please turn on a TV and watch the news read online in what world you would take your family to the island with the current weather.
Understand these are hard planned long vacations we wouldn't cancel them if we don't co sider this as a huge risk.
End of story these people Don't care.

GENERALI - DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE

I honestly should have been more diligent and searched for this insurance company when JET BLUE recommended this for our flight to Jamaica (now i see 1.8, and it all makes sense). we have a baby under 2 years old , and WE NEEDED TO CANCEL THE FLIGHT with a hurricane C5 hitting the island.

I called them and they won't give our money back because our flight was not canceled because of the weather. In what world does that make sense. Turn on the news, please. Even the agent told me she would have done the same thing.

But apparently, they want us to take our family and wait for the hurricane to pass over us to be able to qualify for a refund.

Peace of mind, they say. This is not good insurance!!!!.

I would give 0 stars if possible. I purchased this insurance through Airbnb. It is 100% a scam. I am convinced the few good reviews are their employees. I went through a hassle or providing all of the documents and medical information they requested in order to refund me for a trip I had to cancel due to medical reasons. They have two different websites. The website I was instructed to upload the document said my policy number could not be found. After days of dealing with this headache, I finally was "processed a refund". This then quickly turned into a failed payment after connecting my paypal as instructed. After calling in, (you are lucky if you can get someone) I was told it was Bank of Americas fault, they had issues with processing payments. Contacted bank of america and this was a lie. I was then told it would take 10-15 business days to receive a paper check, when under the recipient portal is says a check should arrive in 4-7 business days. This company will con you out of personal information and will result in nothing. As other reviews state, you will be waiting for nothing in the long run. I will now be reaching out to the news, Better Business Bureau and a lawyer. As they have requested medical information, personal identification and bank account information. It is a shame Airbnb is tangled up with this company.

Also, they claim the calls are monitored and can be obtained. They also say they they document everything. When I asked about receiving documentation that I would be receiving a check in "10-15 days" I was quickly told they do not provide documentation it is just common knowledge within their company and they do not have access to the call recordings. I wish I had checked the reviews before purchasing this policy through Justfly, it is worthless.

It’s better to just buy your ticket with no insurance than trusting them.
This is a scam, big scam at that, do not get the insurance, doesn’t worth it at all

Absolutely terrible. Claim was approved 4 months ago and still haven't managed to receive my payment. No idea how they managed to convince Airbnb to become a preferred partner. (STILL hasn't been resolved, even though they say below that is has been)

Couldn't take a trip in April due to Covid. Called Generali Insurance to let them no on the 7th. Flight was for the 9th. CS agent made it seem easy, saying just give us a doctors note. I gave them the doctors note the day of my flight. Then they said they needed more information. Gave Generali Insurance that info a week later. A week after that, there was no correspondence with Generali Insurance. So I called. The automated system said the claim was finalized and to check the correspondence they sent. I received no correspondence. So I called and had to use a different option because I couldn't get a CS agent on the phone (suddenly) using my claim number. She put me intouch with the claim adjuster handling my claim. No one answered. I've called this claim adjuster 4x. She never answers or returns calls. I had to get my credit union involved. Not only do I blame Generali Insurance for their terrible service. But I also blame Expedia for only having Generali Insurance for travel Insurance. There should be more options than just Generali Insurance. I bet anything Expedia is giving them kick backs for not paying out claims and/or stalling when paying out payments!
