Excellent surgeon. Dr Save performed 3 tendon and 1 nerve repair on my right wrist after a power tool accident. Very professional but approachable and answered all of my questions. The surgery was successful and now I am doing hand therapy to get full function back. I highly recommend him and his staff.

Ten months ago, I sustained a serious traumatic wrist fracture that required ORIF surgery (plate & pins). From my very first appointment through the surgery, post-operative care, and follow-up visits, my experience has been nothing short of exceptional.

Dr. Ameya Save is an outstanding surgeon with an excellent bedside manner. He is kind, patient, and takes the time to explain everything clearly, ensuring that I felt informed and comfortable throughout the process. The results of my surgery speak volumes about his skill and expertise.

Nurse Practitioner Nina Lurie is top-notch as well. She is incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, and made me feel well cared for at every stage. I received hand therapy from Laura Stubin-Amelio, who is a true professional.

I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Save and his team without any reservations. They have provided me with exceptional care, and I will continue to recommend them to anyone in need of a skilled hand surgeon and a supportive medical team.

Dr. Save performed a very delicate surgery to correct a very poor surgery at another institution which threatened the use of my right hand. Had Dr. Save not corrected the previous surgery I ran the risk of losing total use of my hand. He is meticulous and I am so very lucky to have found him. Nina Lurie could not be more gracious and she is extremely well versed in medical orthopedics. She takes the time to explain all the details of the cat scans and x-rays and their implications. I couldn't ask for greater medical care than I got with Dr. Save's office.

After suffering for seven years from Trigger Fingers in the two middle fingers of both hands, I finally sought a surgical consult with Dr. Save and his team.

From my first appointment, I was impressed with the team's empathy, professionalism, and conservative philosophy toward surgical interventions.

His PA Nina Lurie did a very thorough initial evaluation and Dr. Save followed up and concurred with her assessment. Rather than do surgery right away, he suggested PT.

Four months later, when that wasn't effective we scheduled surgery. Rather than do it in his office as is often the case with other providers, he took the precaution of scheduling the ER and doing the procedure with local anesthetic.

The experience, both times, (four weeks apart) was exceptional. I felt cared for and listened to by the entire staff, from the receptionist in the lobby to all of the nurses in the OR.

Most importantly, the results were fantastic. That doctor made sure that I was sufficiently numb and really took his time with the procedure. I immediately felt relief, was sent home with the appropriate type and duration of pain meds, and six weeks after the first procedure have full mobility and increased strength.

I expect the same results on the other hand. While it would be a stretch to call any surgical procedure pleasant, the entire experience with Dr. Save and the Hospital for Special Surgery was very close.

I would not hesitate to refer them to my friends and family.
