Paid a fortune for this warranty and as most people have said it’s a total waste of money. I scratched the front wing which I thought they could buff out and just through looking at a photo I sent them they said it didn’t meet their criteria. Would definitely not recommend anyone purchasing this product. My daughter is about to purchase car and have advised her not to take this out as it is a scam.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my unfortunate experience with Auto Protect to warn others about their car warranty. I purchased a warranty from them for £499, thinking it would cover essential repairs for my vehicle. However, when I recently tried to make a claim for Minor Scratches, I was hit with a list of exclusions and told that my claim wasn’t covered.

At no point during the sale was I made aware of these exclusions. This is clearly a case of mis-selling, as I was led to believe that the warranty would protect me against repairs like this. I feel completely let down and misled.

If you're considering buying a car warranty from Auto Protect, please make sure to ask for all the details and read the fine print carefully.

I hope this helps others avoid the same frustrating experience.

If you are reading this review, if you have bought a warranty from these people, prepare for grief, if you haven't....then don't!!!!!
Having had to make 2 claims, the first I had to pay the invoice to get my car back off the garage because they weren't prepared to wait for payout from the warranty dept. and the second involving lower arms and handbrake module as well as other non warranty items to get the car through mot was flat rejected.

Any excuse not to pay out. Their process of obtaining proof of faults and costing is confusing for the garages who do the work. They will provide a costing to a job but not provide 'approval' due to not receiving proof of fault. If they can provide a costing they should know have seen the proof of the fault. Then when the garages goes ahead and does the job because they think costing is the same as approval and leave you paying for work to then try and recovery your spending from them.

My dad had gap insurance with auto protect, we’re very happy with the help we received. The claim process was very quick and the staff were helpful and informative.

This is a rip off and a scam between auto protect and the garages. There are other companies offering extended warranties at a much higher price. From experience, they do not cover most parts when your car gets a problem. They brand it as mechanical warranty but there are significant exclusions. Unhelpful and rude customer service team, that don’t want to help.

Auto Protect Warranty, only pay labour rates of £40 per hour which wouldn't cover even the cheapest of garages. Once the repair has been completed, don't expect your vehicle to be returned soon as the invoice for the repair takes 5 clear working days to be completed, so arrange an alternative means of transport. Rubbish customer service, rubbish accounts department and rubbish service. I would never recommend Auto Protect to anyone else or use this company again.

If I could give them zero stars, I would have. It's a joke of a warranty. Avoid at any cost. The hassle the garage had to go through, i.e. having to first do diagnostic (which you will have to pay for yourself, as the set up is completely impractical) then do a video call to 'prove' to them It's the fault, they had diagnosed. My garage voted to pay for the repair themselves instead as it was too many hoops to jump through. Also, most of garage won't work with them. Go elsewhere.
