Receptionist don’t answer lets the phones ring they give you meds that give you severely bad side effects and when u try to call and tell them they don’t answer I do not recommend them and they force you to see the therapist when they can’t keep one

Since my very first phone call to Dr. Howard's ' office I have been very impressed. Dr . Howard is extremely knowledgeable. Coupling this with her thoughtful nature, my care has been exceptional. My therapist Grace has been instrumental in the great strides I have made. The front office staff is professional and helpful. Special kudos to receptionist Taneka (sp?). Her calm and kind demeanor was very important to me during a difficult time. I highly recommend Dr. Howard.

My son and daughter have been seeing Dr Howard for 8 years. She is truly the best. My son saw many doctors for his bipolar disorder until we found Dr Howard. We will never go anywhere else. We travel from Bel Air MD to see her and the drive is totally worth it.

I've been a patient of dr. Howard for nine years this doctor is truly a wonderful compassionate Doctor Who listens to my every need and then when all my visits Dr Howard takes more than the allotted time that she needs with me sometimes I'm in her office talking with her for 1.5 hours that's unheard-of of a doctor these days it's usually about twenty minutes to 45 minutes she never rushes me she sees me on time every visit and I am very appreciative of this doctor who is truly concerned about my care my health care and tries to help me in any way possibly that she can in her trained professional career as a psychiatrist and sometimes she does give me directions of what to do for instance I have a bad case of plantars fasciitis in my left foot and she did counsel me you and what she thought I should do and I listen to her and you know in the present and the future dr. Howard is a very passionate doctor and I I love her for this so all the ones that write bad reviews about this doctor I think they have their own issues and terms of drug abuse dr. Howard does not suspense any form of medicines that could be habit-forming all she wants is the best for her patients she is a willing capable doctor I'm not only listening and if I do have a situation with my medications and I have with her she may suggest let's try something else I do I am appalled at the fact of some of these patients who continue to bash this doctor who is a caring and wonderful person and a wonderful well-educated doctor and this is coming from someone that has seemed on to her for 9 years and I do believe that some of these postings have something to do with because these folks didn't get their way of wanting different medications Dr Howard will not right medications that are going to harm people or suggest in any way that they should not as for medications on these folks know when I'm talking about ie Xanax or any other controlled substance Dr Howard will not do that she is a psychiatrist and she is doing her best to treat patients in the most fairest best way of her knowledge a being a terrific psychiatrist so I give Dr Howard five stars for her compassion towards my care father Howard has there for me 24 hours a day 7 days a week I am very pleased with this psychiatrist and would happily refer her to anyone who needs psychiatric help and she even has privileges at GBMC Hospital if needed to be hospitalized Dr Howard would be there for the best care that she can possibly do as not only compassionate human being but a terrific doctor this is my review and I do take offense when Dr Howard is bashed because she does not deserve that thank you for reading my story

Dr. Howard has helped me more than any other psychiatrist has helped me before. I’ve seen many psychiatrists and Dr. Howard is the first one to really know about which medicines are best for me and she definitely cares a ton about her patients. These people are extremely rude. Mention I only wanted a psychiatrist but I was forced to get a therapist.

I had asked for a female therapist due to past trauma and the black male (I am black, just describing who it was as I don’t remember his name) doing the initial intake said he was offended, laughed and said he was joking.

He asked me very invasive questions about my past trauma, Which is expected. But, came off as very dismissive and bored.

I talked about my former history with therapy. I’m 24 and have been in therapy intermittently for the past 12
years.

He basically said that I was to blame for not getting better because it was “responsibility to get better”.

Then why am I there then?

He told me to specifically ask for a female therapist. He even called the receptionist at the front.

At the end the receptionist (black female) who didn’t greet me, Smiled and asked if I liked the therapist. And why don’t I schedule with him. I lied and said I liked the therapist. To find out he was right behind me which is why she smiled. He then said I thought you didn’t like male therapists loudly in the office.

I made an appointment on the spot because he was right there. I went home thinking I overreacted but then I decided I couldn’t go back. I didn’t feel comfortable there.

I left and didn’t go back.

I called Dr. Howard's office to schedule an appointment for my daughter at the suggestion of my daughter's school social worker. The front desk was disorganized, did not answer the phone identifying themselves or the practice, difficult to understand over the phone - mumbling, gave the impression that she is not interested in seeing patients who are not on medicaid or medicare. I am a doctor myself, and I expected not to use my insurance since mental health is not readily covered by insurance.
