We have been to numerous specialist over the years for my son and his complex medical issues. We went to Dr. Strickland for his asthma. Never did I think this caring Doctor and his staff would be extremely thorough and detailed, asking additional question to ensure full understanding. He has devised a plan to hopefully find more answers to help diagnosis my son. He understood every issue my son and I have been experiencing. He even took the time to explain why the body was responding and reacting the way it is. I felt so hopeful when we left his office. As a mother who has fought for answers for 13 years, it was so nice to find a specialist who was familiar with my concerns. Highly Recommend!

Great Dr! He is very knowledgeable & professional & polite. The staff is wonderful! They let you know what insurance is going to cover & what your OOP, Deductible & Coinsurance is. Dr. Strickland makes sure to let you know what the procedure process is & how long it will take. And if you enjoy the corny jokes, he has them! I'm always laughing! You leave more knowledgeable then when you went in. I will gladly recommend him over childrens mercy anytime! CMH is a joke in kc. Come here instead!

While he did go off track often, he was interesting to talk to and gave multiple treatment options. Overall we weren’t there for that long and he even gifted me an indian coin. I wouldn’t recommend if you want to fly through the appointment with no talking and only discussion of treatment but if you’re up for some conversation I would recommend.

Dr Strickland has begun working with my daughter. He is very friendly and knowledgeable! I'm thrilled she has him as her allergist.

Not professional. They don’t even keep your records, tried to tell me “you’re only allergic to a few nuts and vegetables, nothing too serious”, when I tried to get my information from them, which btw they will not release without a court order according to the several people I talked to there. Anyway, I’m actually allergic to 91 out of 100 allergens I was test for, 9 being inconclusive due to me going into anaphylaxis within 5 minutes of the first pin prick on the skin allergy test. I almost died in the office, nothing to worry about I guess… “1 out of 100 million case, never seen or heard of anything like what you just went through”, I should be dead, right Mr. Strickland? That’s what you yourself said. Just a few nuts and vegetables, what a joke she was, stammering after I called her out on it, “but, but”… then she hung up on me. It’s actually all nuts, all airborne allergens, and almost all fruits and vegetables. “If you get Rocky Mountain spotted fever, you’re going to have to be fed intravenously, stay away from ticks!” So obviously she wasn’t even reading my “chart”, which they obviously don’t have since all they did was avoid me every time I called. Even went in one time and the girl actually had the nerve to act like she had no idea what I was talking about, same girl, just saying… I guess when in doubt, play stupid, or more like be stupid. Thanks for nothing, “Bro”. Believe the reviews, Don’t go here.

Btw, the ENT I now go to asked me who did my skin allergy test, and when I told him Dr. Strickland, and note I didn’t even tell him the story. He straight up sighed saying “Yeah I’m not even going to bother trying to get those records.” Gee I wonder why he’d say that…

They don’t even have a statistic for how many people have gone into anaphylaxis during a skin allergy test, that’s how rare it is. So rare they don’t even bother to track it, I might actually be the only reported case ever for all I know…

I visited this allergist several years ago when I was a teenager. My visit lasted several hours but I gained nothing from the experience. The entire time, Dr. Strickland rambled and frequently went off-topic. He made uncomfortable jokes, including an inappropriate remark about my body. My parent and I decided that the appointment was going nowhere, and Dr. Strickland became angry when we tried to leave. The entire appointment basically felt like I was being held hostage. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a doctor and it irritates me just thinking about it. Do NOT go here.

Bad experience very unprofessional by going far off subject and making rude unnecessary remarks. Treatments they recommend are extensive and are very expensive.

This doctor doesn't know how to keep a single thought straight. He will switch from one topic to the next and interrupt you constantly. At the end of the appointment he literally asked me, "What do you want me to do?" I won't be going back to his office. The staff and nurses are amazing, but this doctor needs to retire. He complains a lot of how he doesn't have any funding but doesn't listen to the concerns of the patient/ parents.
